A Breath of Promise is the third novella of Caelen’s Wife, and it picks up where ‘A Whisper of Fate‘, book 2 left off.  I enjoyed it immensely!  Questions will be answered, and villains will be revealed. A Breath of Promise, is a wonderful subtitle for this third book by Suzan.  The cover of this book is my favorite out of the three.

The question that has been plaguing Fiona since book one, ‘Would she give up being Chief of her clan for Caelen McDunnah’, will be answered in this novella.  The story line, and plot moves right along in this novella.  There are a few twist and turns, and just when I thought I know who was committing the crimes against the McPhearson Clan, the story took another turn.

I don’t want to say a whole lot about this story, because I don’t want to give anything away.  I will say that readers will be happy with the conclusion of Caelen and Fiona’s story.  You will not be bored for one moment!  I recommend this story to anyone that loves Suzan Tisdale’s books, strong, noble men, and feisty heroines. Now, I am waiting patiently to read more from the McDunnah Clan!

Happy Reading!

‘A Whisper of Fate’ is the second book in the McDunnah Series, and it picks up right where the first one left off.  This second book begins with a kiss, and a giggle (from me) as Fiona declares, “Me womanly parts be broken!”  You will have to read the book to see why.

Fiona has to make a choice, will she choose Caelen, or her clan.  Caelen gets Fiona’s answer when awakens and she is no where to be seen.  He refuses to let go of the hope that she will so day be his wife.  So he sets off to get a assistance from a neighboring clan in helping find out who is responsible for the raids, and deaths on Fiona‘s land.

This second book was full of action, a little bit of mystery and romance.  I found myself laughing out loud in a few scenes.  I enjoy a little humor with my romance!  If you found yourself a little disappointed when the first in the series ended, this one will more than make up for that.

There are a few questions answered, and a few left unanswered.  You will not be disappointed in the ending.  I am looking forward to the third book in the series:  A Breath of Promise, which will be out on March 24th.  I recommend this book to anyone that enjoys historical romance, and a wonderful story.

There is always a wee bit of truth in every rumor.

First let me say, ‘the cover of the book is beautiful’.  Suzan has done it again!  I enjoyed this book, and can not wait for the next one in the series.  Luckily I want have to wait very long, because book 2 will be releases on February 23 27th of this year.

Caelan McDunnah has been grieving the death of his wife, Fiona, and their son that died during child birth for 16 years.  Since their deaths he has had no desire to marry.  Some would say that he is a little tetched, others say he has been in a foul mood for the last 16 years, and they would most likely be right.

Caelen enjoys a good fight, and he has been know to search one out, just for the sake of fighting.  But when Fiona McPhearson shows up in his castle without any prior warning, bringing a piece of his clans plaid and a dagger with his clan emblem on it, accusing him of stealing her cattle, he is a little stunned.  Especially since she is also accusing him of doing it because he wants to marry her, so he can control her land.

So, starts the clash of of wills between Fiona, and Caelen.  Fiona is a strong, proud, and a little stubborn.  She enjoys a good fight also.  She was left the responsibility of caring for her clan after her husbands death, and she will do so no matter what the cost.  Even if that means she must put aside her own happiness, and never marrying or loving another man.

I am so glad that we are finally getting to read Caelen’s story.  I feel that Suzan gave us just enough details on both Caelen and Fiona’s character, so that we know why they are the way they are.  They were well developed, and likeable.  We get to see more of Caelen that just the tetched, angry laird he was portrayed as in previous series.  He actually has a heart!

I feel that the story and plot flowed nicely.  I wasn’t left scratching my head at any time during the book.  This book was humorous at times, and I love when an author can make me laugh.

This book was a little shorter than the authors other books, but she did inform her readers beforehand that it would be.  Caelen’s Wife is going to be a 3 part series.  The 2nd book is going to be release on February 23rd 27th, and the 3rd one on March 23rd 27th of this year.  I was a wee bit disappointed that I didn’t get the whole story all at once, but I am glad I want have to wait long to read the rest.

I would recommend this book to anyone that enjoys reading Scottish Historical Romances.  If you enjoy an excellent story that includes a strong hero & heroine, then this book is for you.

My Review

Findley’s Lass is the 2nd book in the ‘Clan MacDougall Series’ by Suzan Tisdale.  I loved this book!  Suzan Tisdale writes like someone that has been writing for many, many years.  In truth she has only been at it for about 4.  I have said it many times before, but I am so glad that I found her books.  I have devoured each one as if they were my last meal.

While reading Findley’s Lass, I alternated between reading it on my Kindle, and listening to the Audible audio version.  Brad Wills does a stupendous job narrating the audio version!

Findley’s Lass picks up where ‘Laiden’s Daughter‘ ended.  Findley and his men are searching for the reivers that have stolen their clans cows, and that search leads them right to Maggy’s door.

Maggy is strong willed, loyal, smart, and the mother of 5 boys.  She is trying to raise her boys to be honest, and noble men.  Having suffered cruelty at the hands of her now dead husband, Maggy is determined that she will never suffer through another arranged marriage.  She believes that no man ever does anything for a lady, unless there is something in it for him.

Findley McKenna is a Highlander.  A big, handsome, strong, honest, stubborn, and noble highlander (sigh).  So when he and his men offer to help Maggy get her youngest son back, she doesn’t believe that he only wants to assist her out of the kindness of his heart. Maggy accepts Findley’s help, but she doesn’t fully trust his motives.  After all she has some secrets of her own.  I adored Findley, and I believe he is my new favorite.

Findley’s Lass has an easy to follow plot, and it is well developed.  I was never bored while reading this book.  There were many times that I laughed out loud, parts of the story brought tears to my eyes.  Suzan writes beautifully!  I adore that she brought a few of my favorite characters from Laiden’s Daughter into the story.

There were times when I wanted to pull Maggy’s hair, because of her constant doubts of Findley and his motives.  I understood why it was hard for her to trust him, considering her past, but I still found it a little frustrating.

There are a few curse words, and a closed door sex scene in the book.  There is also a few battle scenes, but nothing that was to graphic.  If you love Scottish Historical Romance, and excellent fiction, then this series is for you.

Happy Reading!
