I am sharing the books that I downloaded on my Kindle this week.  All of them were free but two at the time when I purchased them on amazon.com.  I am not sure if they are still free or not, so please pay attention to the price if you decide to purchase any of them.

the reluctant bacheloretteThe Reluctant Bachelorette by Rachael Anderson

This book was .99 went I purchased it on amazon.com yesterday.

Unknowingly cast as the bachelorette for her town’s charity event, Taycee Emerson wants out. Especially when she discovers her old teenage crush, Luke Carney, is one of the bachelors and it’s up to the viewers–not her–to decide which bachelors stay or go.

Coerced into participating, Taycee does what any self-preserving girl would do. She launches a subtle attack on Luke’s good name with the hope of getting him voted off the show. Unfortunately, Luke’s an eye-for-an-eye kind of guy, and when he discovers what she’s up to, it means revenge.

As the eldest son of a clan chief, Myles Campbell is accustomed to having his own way. But when the king of Scotland commands he wed a defiant Highland lass instead of a French mademoiselle, Myles must obey his royal duty. Meeting his bride for the first time on their wedding day, he is pleased to discover the lass is a beauty, but she quickly proves she’d just as soon kill him as kiss him.

all i want for christmas is a duke

All I Want For Christmas Is A Duke by Marie Claremont & Delilah Marvelle

I know that it is not even close to Christmas, but both stories sounded really good and they were FREE as of last night.
Merry Christmas, Mrs. Robinson by Delilah Marvelle

Lady Jane left her father, the Earl of Chadwick, and the ton behind to experience life on the stage. After a disastrous marriage, the widow is living on the edge of poverty, determined to guard her heart, when a secret admirer from her past demands a second chance.

Shy and retiring Martin Nicholas Pierce, the Sixth Duke of Somerset, has carried a torch for Lady Jane since her youth, but he is five years her junior. When she married another man, he left for Europe, determined to put her out of his mind. After returning to find Lady Jane free, he vows to replace the memories of her cursed Twelfth Night with a new beginning.

The Twelve Days of Seduction By Máire Claremont

Alexander Hunt, Eighth Duke of Berresford, is aware his ward’s governess isn’t quite what she seems. Although Miss Flint is beautiful and intelligent, she misrepresented herself to gain employment, and he threatens to give her the sack mere days before Christmas.

Desperate to convince the sexy duke not to tear her from the little girl she’s grown to adore, Adriana challenges him to seduce her before the Twelve Days of Christmas have come to an end, although she fears it may cost her heart. Alexander accepts the challenge, unconcerned that he has as much to lose, if not more, than the delectable Miss Flint.

Unpredictable

Unpredictable by Eileen Cook

From the author of Do or Di and Getting Revenge on Lauren Wood, comes a new laugh out loud romantic comedy. Sophie Kintock isn’t crazy, she just wants her guy back. And posing as a psychic to give his new girlfriend a face reading designed to break them up isn’t going overboard, is it?

Faking psychic powers turns out to be easy and fun, especially after a few lessons from Nick, the cute (if a bit nerdy) skeptic, who knows all the tricks of the trade. But her readings do a lot more than she could have predicted, and soon Sophie needs to figure out whether the answers lie in the stars-or in herself.

kingdom by the sea

Kingdom by the Sea (Romantic Suspense) by Jill Winters

When archives librarian, Nicole Sheffield, inherits an oceanfront property from her Aunt Nina, she’s unaware that something has been hidden for her in the house–and that more than one party is eager to get inside.  As Nicole begins piecing together clues left by her aunt, she forms an unlikely alliance with an enigmatic man named Michael, who carries a secret of his own. Capturing the beauty and chill of Cape Cod in autumn, Winters’ seventh novel takes readers to a picturesque town on the coast of Massachusetts–then uncovers the secrets behind neighborly faces and the possibility of a love behind lies.  Few things are what they seem, as this richly atmospheric mystery unfolds.

Sand Dollar: A Story of Undying Love

I can’t wait to read this book.  I found it on Amazon.com for only .99 and it is normally $9.00.  I am so excited!

Noah Hartman, eighty years old, lies sick in a hospital bed recounting his life of love and loss to Josh, in his sixties, a wise and compassionate orderly who stopped in to bring him dinner. As Noah’s loved ones arrive one by one to see him, they listen in on his story, and we’re transported back in time to Noah’s younger years.

Though outwardly seeming to have it all, Noah, now thirty-five, is actually an empty, lost, and broken man running on automatic pilot. He has no true identity due to having allowed his powerful, wealthy parents to manipulate, control, and brainwash him from a young age. With the threat of disinheritance and withholding love and approval if he doesn’t comply with the plan they have for his life, Noah is lured in by the reward of great wealth and the illusion of running the family business empire some day. In truth, however, Noah is like a regular, everyday guy living a life that was not meant for him.

Enter Robin, twenty-five years old, who — in direct contrast to Noah — is a vivacious, free spirit. Full of life and always living in the moment, Robin’s love saves Noah by inspiring him to stand up to his parents and live his own life at all costs, reclaiming his true self.

While snorkeling in the Caribbean, the captain of the boat warns them not to disturb anything in the sea. Ignoring the exhortation, Noah dives down and snags a sand dollar from the ocean floor, whereupon it explodes in his hand. With the fragile sand dollar taking on new significance, Robin inexplicably leaves Noah shortly after returning from their trip. Like a passing breeze, she disappears out of his life without a trace, seemingly forever.

Years pass, and Noah still can’t get her out of his mind and out of his heart. After all, she’d always be the one who got away, the one he loved the most. That’s when he finds out about her hidden secret, an underlying condition responsible for her having left. Noah has no choice but to move on with his life without her, meeting Sarah and pursuing a relationship with her.

Years later, it’s Noah and Sarah’s wedding day, and Robin discovers a clue that Noah had surreptitiously sent her, inspiring her to race to the wedding to try to stop it. With the wedding in shambles, the scene jumps back to present day, with both Robin and Sarah placed in Noah’s hospital room. But which one did he choose?

Things are definitely not as they appear as Noah discovers a far greater truth about his past, present, and future. As Noah finishes telling his story, we are brought up to present day, where the pieces of a shattered love are put back together in the remarkable final chapter of his life.

Betting On Hope

When her father loses the family’s Nevada ranch in a poker game, Hope McNaughton decides to win it back–from New Jersey Mafia boss Big Julie Saladino. She hasn’t played cards in a while. But she’s got time…thirty days. Thirty days before they have to move out or swim with the fishes.

Hope calls on her honorary uncles–who are totally legit, honestly–to sharpen her game. Poker champion Tanner Wingate–whose shady past is all behind him, really (except when the cops come calling)–wants to pull her out of that deep water and into his life.

Hope doesn’t want to get mixed up with a card shark like Tanner, who’s too much like her father–an irresponsible gambler who cheats and takes too many risks. But she’ll do what she has to do to get the ranch back.

When she and Tanner both wind up in the Big Game with Big Julie, only one of them can win and neither can afford to lose. And whoever walks away with the pot will be the biggest loser.

But Tanner knows that the game’s not really over until the fat lady sings, and all they need is a fake black ops mission to discover that love’s not such a gamble, after all.

the breakup

In The Breakup, Aja Rain has sliced all ties with her controlling boyfriend. She accidentally used a knife, and now she has become something of a media sensation. Her family wants her ex-boyfriend to pay an even steeper price for his transgressions against Aja, but she won’t be a part of it.

To escape the media attention and the conflict between her family and Stephen, her ex-boyfriend, Aja flees to Italy. There she finds vineyards, golden landscapes, Marco and Pietro. It is time to put her life back together.

She does not know her ex-boyfriend is on his way. He is not finished with her yet.

The Breakup is a romantic tale of a woman who longs to be with the right man, only to realize that searching for Mr. Right has led her down the wrong path. Will she find what she is looking for? Will Stephen get his revenge?

long time coming

Though veterinarian Joy Hudson is now an accomplished and well-established professional, all the trauma of her senior year in high school comes rushing back when she returns to her hometown to help care for her aging father. The memories she tried to erase about her best friend’s tragic death, and the boy she blamed for the accident, suddenly seem very fresh — especially because that boy is now the handsome town doctor who makes his interest in Joy abundantly clear. Even more troubling is Joy’s mounting suspicion that someone is either trying to spook her or kill her. It will take all Joy’s courage to attend to past and present dangers.

gray justice

Gray Justice is the fast-paced debut thriller from Alan McDermott. It tells the story of Tom Gray, an ex-soldier running a successful business until his world falls apart. His young son is killed by a joy rider and his wife, overcome with grief, takes her own life months later. When his son’s killer walks free from court, Gray decides that the current justice system needs an overhaul, and kidnaps five serial offenders. Parading them on the internet, he lets the people of Britain decide if they should live or die, and the government are powerless to stop him. Gray believes he has the perfect plan, right down to the last detail, but one man travels four thousand miles to prove him wrong in an explosive climax.
